Working with Horn Frames
Brigitte Paulick of Frieda Eyewear
"Eyewear is deeply rooted in my family's history, spanning over two centuries of eyeglass manufacturing. Growing up, I was immersed in our workshops, and inevitably, I followed in my father's footsteps by pursuing optometry school in Germany.
Upon earning my Masters, I embarked on a 25-year journey on Park Avenue, opening and running our Friedrich's Optik flagship store in NYC and growing into the companies CEO.
However, in 2020, when the world came to a standstill, I made the decision to move to Roxbury, CT, on a full-time basis.
With our workshops in Germany closed, we encountered challenges, particularly with our Palm Beach store operating as usual. Drawing inspiration from my heritage, I initiated a small-scale production venture, initially operating out of my basement and later establishing a workshop in Washington Depot, CT.
Four years have passed since then, and we have successfully been crafting horn frames for all of our Friedrich's locations in Washington. Now, for the very first time, we are opening the doors to our production and collection, inviting small independent opticals that share our brand's values and commitment to quality to join us in this journey."
